Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis players to ever grace the tennis court. The American legend has won 23 Grandslam singles titles in her illustrious, which spans over two decades. The 39-year old is looked upon by several budding athletes across the globe. Serena Williams is competing at the Parma Open 2021, where she is the first seed.
Serena Williams defeated Lisa Pigato in straight sets in the first round of Parma Open 2021. The American will now face Katerina Siniakova in the second round clash. Serena Williams is a huge admirer of Roger Federer’s genius on court, and showered huge praise on the Swiss. The American stated that it was incredible to see how Federer’s game has evolved during the past two decades, and considers him as the best tennis player.
“Roger Federer is the best. He is a synopsis of greatness and class and it’s unbelievable to see how his game has evolved. He is a genius,” said Serena Williams.
Roger Federer returns to action at Geneva Open 2021
Roger Federer will return to action at the Geneva Open 2021 this week. The Swiss is the top seed in Geneva, and has received a bye in the first round. This will be Federer’s first clay court tournament in two years, and just his second tournament of the season. His last appearance came at the Qatar Open 2021, where he was knocked out in the quarterfinals.
As for Serena Williams, she made her comeback on tour at the Italian Open 2021. Playing her 1000th professional match, she was defeated in the second round by Nadia Podoroska. However, Serena will hope to do well in Parma this week, and regain some form before the French Open 2021.
