Long time coach of Roger Federer reveals ‘this’ secret about him
Roger Federer
Anything related to Roger Federer is always a matter of great interest for sports fans all over the World. The 20-time Grand Slam Champion has been the biggest draw in tennis for close to two decades now.
That Federer has been a winner on court has worked for him, but what has worked more is his ‘good man’ vibe. His long time coach and partner on tour Severin Luthi recently shared a ‘secret’ about him.
How is Roger Federer really like as a person
Severin Luthi was asked to reveal something about Roger Federer that is a secret, something which is not very well known. Luthi said that if you didn’t know Federer you would not believe how funny he actually is. He added that Federer was a good man too, but of course that part is known by one and all.
Severin Luthi while talking to tennis.com about Federer said, “ He’s much maybe much funnier than people would think, that’s maybe first thing. He’s really very funny and he’s also a very nice guy, OK people know that, but he really is that way.”
Apart from that Luthi also revealed that for Federer hitting balls too much is not a worry, as he seems to be in touch all the time, as seen with his Volley challenge. The real place where the thirty-nine year old has to work on is his physical fitness.
Roger Federer is balanced both in defeat and victory
Paul Annacone, who is a former coach of Roger Federer, has revealed that the latter is “extremely balanced” in victory or defeat. He went on to say that Federer is extremely good in how he deals with losses. Paul Annacone sighted the example of how Federer had behaved when he had lost a game against Tsonga. Paul Annacone said, ” He was 2-0 up and then he lost. He came home, dropped his bag and started playing with the girls on the floor.”
Paul Annacone is referring to the Wimbledon Quarter-final in 2011, where Federer was two sets to love up, before Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came from behind to win it 3-2. The match ended with the Frenchman winning 3-6 6-7 6-4 6-4 6-4.
Annacone also talked about how dignified Federer was in his “heart breaking” five set loss to Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon Final 2019. Djokovic won in five sets, 7-6 1-6 7-6 4-6 13-12.
