Aryna Sabalenka became the first player to register win in the opening round of the Wimbledon 2021. The Belarusian who’s seeded 2nd was up against Monica Niculescu in the first round, whom she defeated 6-1, 6-4 in 76 minutes to make it into the 2nd round at the Championships.
Sabalenka is playing in her 4th Wimbledon tournament and has reached the 2nd round just for the 2nd time which remains her best result so far at the Grand Slam. Seeded 2nd and with ample of practice before coming to the All-England Club, great results can be expected from the Belarusian.
Katie Boulter makes it to the 2nd round in her 2nd successive appearance as she plays at the All-England Club for the 5th time in her career. Boulter was up against American Danielle Lao in the 1st round and after dropping a set, staged a good comeback to win 6-7(6) 6-3 6-4.
Boulter had a long battle with Lao as they fought for almost 2.5 hours before one of them emerged victorious on the Court 17. Katie who is a wildcard entrant, put up a strong performance as the crowd cheered the local girl.

This will be the 2nd meeting between the duo and first on Grass. They met for the first time in the 2nd round of the 2019 Australian Open where Sabalenka won in straight-sets and leads the head-to-head tie 1-0.

She will try to give Sabalenka a run for her money taking confidence from her quarter-final run at the WTA Nottingham Open 2021, but it will be a difficult match for the Brit.
