Diego Schwartzman has been one of the best clay court players over the last couple of seasons but has been in terrible form this season. He was constantly losing in the opening rounds of the build up events but turned the tables in Paris.
He defeated Lu Yen-hsun of Chinese Taipei in the first round convincingly in straight sets 6-2,6-2,6-3. The Argentine, wearing pink moved around the court very well and held his serve to perfection which would give him a lot of confidence moving ahead in Paris.
As for his opponent, Aljaz Bedene is naturally good on Clay. And was clearly enjoying playing on the red dirt against Adrian Mannarino in the opening round. He defeated the Frenchman in four sets 7-5,3-6,7-5,6-2.

Diego Schwartzman vs Aljaz Bedene: Prediction
There were doubts around Schwartzman’s form coming into Paris but the No.10 seed proved to everyone why he is one of the best on the dirt. He moved around the court very well and will be very confident to go deep into the tournament.
But the Argentine won’t take Bedene lightly in any means. The Slovenian star also has a solid baseline gameplay and could trouble Schwartzman if he keeps his game clean. Having said that, expect Schwartzman to cruise into the third round.
Prediction: Schwartzman to win in straight sets.
