“Oh My Goodness”: Serena Williams excited about Naomi Osaka’s comeback

Naomi Osaka is a name to reckon with in the world of tennis. The Japanese tennis star rose to fame when she defeated Serena Williams in the 2018 US Open final. Post that, the sensational athlete went on to win three more Grand Slams. She started the 2021 season in an emphatic style as well.
Naomi won 2021 Australian Open and many opined that this is going to be the year of Osaka. However, things went south real quick. Osaka raised a few eyebrows after she decided to withdraw midway from the French Open and post that, she hasn’t tasted a lot of success on the court.
“It’s going to be amazing”: Serena thrilled about Osaka’s comeback
Osaka last appeared in the US Open where she was defeated by finalist Leylah Fernandez in the third round. After that particular encounter, Osaka decided to take an indefinite break from the game. She was seen enjoying her vacation in Greece a little while ago.
However, Osaka fans were delighted when the star player hinted towards making a comeback on the court. She showed a zoomed-in shot of a tennis ball that featured the Australian Open’s logo on it which made her fans believe that she might return to the court in January.
When American tennis champion Serena Williams was asked about Osaka’s possible comeback next year, she seemed delighted and claimed, “Oh my goodness, It’s gonna be amazing. I can’t wait.” It will be interesting to if Osaka can reclaim her glory by making a thumping comeback at the next year’s Australian Open.
