Serena Williams has finally released some details about her plans to retire from tennis. In a recent interview, the former world No.1 opened up about her feelings about retiring from tennis and starting another chapter of her life.

The 23-time grand slam champion has been a bit secretive about her retirement plans but she finally released some information about her plans to retire from tennis, a sport she has given all her life to.

In the interview with the Entertainment Weekly Williams said, “And I know the clock is ticking so I’m just like OK, I need to figure out when that’s going to be, but hopefully soon when I will feel no pressure.”

In the same interview with Entertainment Weekly, when Serena Williams was asked about her retirement plans she said, “I am prepared for that day, I’ve been prepared for that day for over a decade, So, I’ve always — if you’ve seen King Richard you know that my dad always said you got to prepare, so I’ve been prepared for that. You know, at the end of the day, I think it’s really important to always have a plan and that’s kind of what I did. I always had a plan.”

Williams also mentioned her plans after retiring from Tennis. She said, “I definitely want to have more kids, it’s just like, balance is key, you know, and just trying to find that balance, I don’t know, it’s always like, OK, are we ready? And I know the clock is ticking so I’m just like OK, I need to figure out when that’s going to be, but hopefully soon when I will feel no pressure.”

The former world No.1 is all set to start a new chapter of her life. However, she didn’t confirm her retirement plans but she is certainly looking to retire from tennis and give time to her family, and build a bigger family.

According to Willaims coach Patrick Mouratoglou, “I don’t think she will stop until she at least wins a Grand Slam, because she came back to win Grand Slams, She doesn’t quit.”
