The tennis world is currently hyped up for the anticipated men’s singles match between Rafael Nadal and Daniil Medvedev. But there is another storm following which can light a fire under every tennis player. That is the women’s singles finals between Ash Barty and Dannielle Collins.
On January 29, in the Rod Laver Arena, Barty and Collins are going to go head to head to grab the title of Women’s singles Australian Open 2022 winner. The World No. 1 Barty, with two grand slams in her hand from the 2019 French Open and 2021 Wimbledon Championships, is aiming for her third one. The seven-time grand slam champion John McEnroe commented on the upcoming women’s finals.

Having only lost 21 games overall in 6 matches, Barty defeated Madison Keys in the semi-finals in straight sets ( 6-1, 6-3 ).
McEnroe further opined, “I like her in a lot of ways, she plays with a lot of energy. To me, she’s someone I can relate to because I believe she’s become a better player because she plays doubles.” He is also highly looking forward to the match between the American and the Australian. He also comments on Collins’s game, saying, “I don’t know a lot about her. However, I’ve watched her the last three, four years, and she’s one of the most intense competitors I’ve seen”.
“She should feel great, and she’s playing at the top of her game, So everything points to her winning this in two sets, truthfully.” Regarding her condition during the US Open, which was not as good as now because of being away from home for an extended period, now back to her country, Barty will Definity put a solid fight to win the title.
