Sinner‘s record this year does not justify the tennis he has played after being handed tough draws in many tournaments, but he has certainly shown why he is dubbed as the next big thing in the sport.

Mikael Ymer makes his 3rd round debut at the French Open after a 4-set victory over Frenchman Gael Monfils after dishing out a bagel in the 1st set and eventually winning 6-0, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. Similar to Sinner he also comes from a 5-set victory in the first round.

Mikael due to his rank had to start from the qualifying rounds in previous tournaments and faced defeats either in the first round or within the qualifiers itself. He had not reached the 2nd round before his appearance at the Roland Garros and will now contest in the 3rd round at the Grand Slam.
