Iga Swiatek is currently in the form of her life. She made headlines by winning the French Open last year without dropping a set and has risen through the ranks since then. But there were questions about her game on grass as she made no grass court wins to her name coming to this grass court season. She managed to win a hard fought match at Eastbourne but lost the very next one to Daria Kasatkina.
But the Pole has looked a completely different player this week at the All England Club. She hasn’t dropped a set in her first three matches and has defeated the likes of Su-wei Hsieh and Vera Zvonareva in the initial rounds before thrashing Irina-Camelia Begu in the third round 6-1,6-0.
As for her opponent, Ons Jabeur, she is also in the form of her life. The Tunisian 21st seed won her first WTA title at Birmingham last month on grass. This week in Wimbledon, she has already beaten two former Wimbledon champions. She defeated Venus Williams in the second round, bageling her in the second set and got the better of 11th seed Garbine Muguruza in the third round 5-7,6-3,6-2 on centre court.
