“Olé Diegooo”: Twitter goes beserk after Diego Schwartzman defeats world number 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas in heavyweight ATP Cup clash

Diego Schwartzman
Diego Schwartzman is an Argentine tennis player who is famous for his top-notch return game. The Argentine has been in good form for the last couple of years in general, reaching a career-high ranking of 8th in 2020.
In the 2021 season, the 29-year-old won the 4th ATP title of his career at the Argentina Open without dropping a single set, defeating Francisco Cerúndolo in the final. The Argentine also reached the quarter-finals of the French Open but was defeated by tournament favourite Rafael Nadal in a hard-fought contest.
Schwartzman edges Tsitsipas to give Argentina victory over Greece

In his first match since the ATP finals, Diego Schwartzman scored a stunning 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Greece’s talisman Stefanos Tsitsipas. After pulling out of his team’s opening ATP Cup match against Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz, the Greek was looking to comeback from the elbow injury which had forced him to pull out midway through the 2021 ATP Finals.
His elbow was put to a stern test on Monday as Schwartzman emerged victorious in an enthralling encounter. The first set didn’t have any breaks until Tsitsipas missed out on an opportunity in the 12th game. The two then traded breaks in the second set before taking the lead and then ultimately sealing the set after converting his fourth break point of the game.
With the momentum firmly on his side, world number 13 Schwartzman then went on to break Tsitsipas in the opening game of the third set and ultimately clinch the victory to seal the ATP Cup tie for his country against Greece, after Argentina’s Federico Delbonis had beat his counterpart Michail Pervolarakis 7-6 6-1 earlier on Monday.
