Twitter reacts to Leylah Fernandez’s scintillating win over Aryna Sabalenka to reach her maiden grand slam final

Leylah Fernandez‘s dream run at the 2021 US Open continues as she beats World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal on Arthur Ashe stadium. She got the better of Sabalenka in three sets 7-6(3),4-6,6-4 to reach her maiden major final. Prior to this US Open she had just won 4 matches at grand slam level in 6 appearances and this week alone, she has won 6 matches.

She was handed one of the toughest paths and she showed her mental strength in beating the big names- Naomi Osaka, Angelique Kerber, Elina Svitolina and Aryna Sabalenka.

Twitter erupted and celebrated this valiant display of tennis from Fernandez and lauded her mental strength. The Twitterati also celebrated her feat and credited Canadian tennis structure for her success.
