World No.1 Novak Djokovic asserted his dominance once again on the tennis court and beat Alexander Zverev in the semifinal of the 2021 US Open. The top seed defeated the German in five sets 4-6,6-2,6-4,4-6,6-2 to reach his 31st grand slam final. He also also levelled with Roger Federer in most major final appearances.

Djokovic is now just one win away from creating history and becoming the first man after Rod Laver to complete the calendar slam. If he manages to beat Daniil Medvedev in the final, he will also take the all-time grand slam lead and will leapfrog Federer and Nadal.

Post his semifinal win, the Twitterati lauded Djokovic’s feat and shared interesting stats and wishes for him.
