‘Two Incredibly badass women’ Naomi Osaka catches up with legendary Ski racer Lindsey Vonn and singer Ciara at the Super Bowl LVI

4-time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka was in attendance at the Sofi Stadium where the NFL Super Bowl LVI took place between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals with the Rams winning the title in a tightly contested match. As much as the action, the Super Bowl is also famous for the star-studded attendance of celebrities from all walks of life.
The honour of doing the coin toss went to the legendary Billie Jean King and the half-time show also had a commercial with Serena Williams featuring in it. With many athletes from other sports also in attendance, Naomi caught up with former legendary American alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn and singer Ciara during the Super Bowl.
Vonn later took it to her official Instagram handle to post a picture of the trio and captioned it, ‘Level up Standing next to two incredibly badass women! #strongwomen”.
Naomi Osaka to return to Tour in March
Currently ranked 82nd in the world due to her long absence from the Tour in the past season, Osaka is confirmed to play at the 2022 Indian Wells Open which begins on 9th March 2022 in California. Indian Wells was the tournament where Osaka won her first-ever career title when she defeated Daria Kasatkina in the finals of the 2018 Indian Wells Open becoming one of the youngest champions at the tournament.
Naomi has not played in Indian Wells since her 4th round exit in 2019. With the 2020 edition cancelled due to the Pandemic, the 2021 edition was postponed from March to October after the conclusion of the 2021 US Open. However, with Naomi battling mental health issues in the 2021 season, she chose to not participate in any event after her 3rd round exit from the US Open.
With a return to the tournament after 2 years confirmed, Naomi would need to come out with all guns blazing as she needs ranking points to again move into the top tier of the rankings and not where she is currently placed.
