World No. 132 Nick Kyrgios is one of the unique characters on the Tour. Apart from his brilliant shot-making and talent on the court, he is also in the news for his personal life and comments that are often controversial and somehow drags him into various issues.
Nick is currently in a relationship with 21-year old Costeen Hatzi, a Sydney based entrepreneur and also a social media influencer. The two confirmed their relationship status in late 2021, a while after Nick’s difficult and highly controversial breakup with Chiara Passari who accused the Australian of having cheated on her and the couple’s fight in a hotel stopped only after police intervention.
Things with Costeen are however going good and Nick has credited her for bringing the ‘lady luck’ as he went on to win the 2022 Australian Open Doubles title. The couple recently appeared in an interview with Karl Stefanovic for ‘Today’ where the couple addressed a lot of things including Nick’s win in Melbourne and their relationship as well.
“I was very nervous for the first game because I knew that he had not played a game for a long time and I could feel that he was a little bit nervous, you (Nick) were quiet. I was really happy for him, I mean he did work a lot considering we were in isolation a week before. I think he played amazing and he really deserved it,” said Costeen speaking about watching Nick win the Grand Slam.
“Nothing would have happened without her to be honest,” said Kyrgios having earlier revealed that Costeen was not aware of how the scoring in tennis really works. Karl then asked if Nick is her first tennis player, to which she replied quietly “Yeah,” with Karl quickly asking, “Will he be your last?” to which both Nick and Karl burst out laughing. Nick slyly said, “Well not until the little ones come,” shocking both Karl and Costeen with his answer.

With Nick’s answer shocking Costeen who was visibly stunned by the remark of having kids, Karl jumped on to the opportunity to ask the couple about their plans for the future to which Costeen divulged the question to Nick to answer. “I don’t know, she doesn’t want to talk about it just yet but I know that I’m not going anywhere anytime soon,” replied Nick showing his commitment towards his relationship.
Nick is currently playing in the 2022 Indian Wells Masters and is into the second round of the tournament having defeated Argentina’s Sebastian Baez in straight-sets dropping a bagel as well. He will now take on Federico Delbonis in the next round as he continues his hunt for his maiden Masters title.
