Venus Williams joins Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams on the injured list, opts out of US Open 2021

One after the other, several tennis stars have decided to withdraw from the US Open 2021. Multiple Grand Slam champions Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Serena Williams have already made it clear that they are set to miss the marquee tournament due to injuries.
Adding one more name to the list of players who have decided to stay away from the US Open this year due to injuries, Venus Williams informed that unfortunately, she is also not fit enough to take part in the tournament. The American tennis star had received a wild card entry into the US Open this year.

Venus took to Twitter to inform her fans that she has joined the list of players who will miss out on the chance of participating in the US 2021. She wrote, “Not the best news everyone. I am joining Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer on the injured list.“
She went on the thank the US Open administration for giving her a wildcard entry and claimed that she will be back with a bang next year. She wrote, “it’s still going to be a great US Open & many thanks to the US Open for the wild card. I was so looking forward to it, but it was not meant to be this year. I will be back!”
Venus has been affected a great deal by a persistent leg injury. The star player has struggled to regain form as the injury has aggravated many times and has prevented her from giving her absolute best on the court. This time around, the unbearable pain caused by the dreadful injury has forced her to stay away from the US Open.
After ordinary outings at the French Open and Wimbledon where she was knocked out in the first and second round respectively, Venus was expected to make her presence felt at the US Open. However, her fans would have to wait a little longer to see her on the court again.
