Victoria Azarenka is a magnificent tennis player who has achieved great laurels in her illustrious career. The Belarusian tennis star is a former World No. 1 player and has won two singles Grand Slam titles as well. The 32-year-old champion athlete hasn’t had a great season thus far, however, she is expected to deliver in the US Open.
Azarenka recently showcased signs of good form at the Canadian Open, however, her journey was halted in the quarter-finals by top-seeded Aryna Sabalenka. While Azarenka is known for playing some extraordinary shots on the court, the tennis champion is also an avid football fan and her latest statement on Lionel Messi pays testimony to the fact that she indeed is a football lover.

Azarenka recently claimed that she was terribly disappointed when Lionel Messi decided to leave Barcelona FC. She went on to claim it is like an end of an era as the top football star has given innumerable moments to cheer to the FC Barcelona fans across the globe.
“I think this is very bad news for FC Barcelona,” the Belarusian tennis star claimed. Moreover, she went on to say that Messi’s farewell was extremely moving and that he is indeed a class apart and so different from all the other football players.
“His farewells were very moving during his departure press conference. It’s sort of the end of an era. He is so talented and so different from other players,” she said. Azarenka would be eyeing the upcoming US Open as the star player hasn’t achieved much this year and is itching for a title victory.
