Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu is probably the biggest tennis sensation on the planet right now, ever since she has won the US Open 2021, and became the British No.1 player – at only 19 years old. What’s more interesting is that Raducanu made her WTA debut in June 2021 itself, and a few months later she has already won her first Grand Slam.

Emma Raducanu was born on 13 November 2002, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her family shifted to England when she was 2 years old and she started playing tennis when she turned 5. After her victory at the US Open, where she overpowered many big names and won without ever dropping a set, Raducanu has achieved plenty of international fame.

She was also awarded the BBC’s Sports Personality of The Year 2021 Award. Since then, a lot of eyes are on her regarding her future performances, and the most recent big event is going to be the Australian Open 2022, starting from the 17th of January 2022.

Emma Raducanu’s video at the Rod Laver Arena!

Raducanu took to Instagram on the 31st of December to share a video of her practicing for the Australian Open 2022, in the Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne, where the event is going to be held. The video ends with Raducanu hitting a powerful shot and ending the rally and the caption reads as: “Very happy to be here.

“Pressure is a privilege. I think I quite like it. I thrive under the adrenaline. For me, I don’t really think about other people’s opinions or expectations. The only ones I have are the ones I have myself to improve and get better. I think that I’m still the same person. I feel like I’ve come a long way in terms of developing my game but there are a lot of places I feel like it can improve,” said Raduanu after being questioned about her future in the Australian Open.

Raducanu was supposed to play at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in December but after testing positive for Covid-19, she could participate.
