Garbine Muguruza
Garbine Muguruza has long been the flag bearer of Spanish tennis on the WTA Tour. The Spaniard is a 2-time Grand Slam champion winning the 2016 French Open and the 2017 Wimbledon. She came close to a 3rd Grand Slam title at the 2020 Australian Open but had to settle for the runners-up trophy.
Muguruza turned Pro in 2012 while still being a teenager and won her first WTA title at the 2014 Hobart International at the age of 20. Muguruza has claimed 6 WTA titles apart from her Grand Slam triumphs and co-incidentally all have been won on Hardcourts while her Slams came on Clay and Grass.
Garbine’s consistent performances saw her rise to the summit of WTA rankings and after the conclusion of the 2017 US Open where she made it to the 4th round which helped her dethrone Karolina Pliskova as the World No. 1.

Garbine is quite active on her social media handles and often posts updates about her off-court activities as well. With different speculations and rumours ongoing about her relationship status, the Spaniard has cleared the air by coming forward and revealing that she is currently single and not dating anybody.
Muguruza has chosen to focus on tennis for time being and the decision seems to have turned out well for the Spaniard. After a difficult 2019 and 2020 season that saw her fall out of the top-30 rankings, Muguruza is back in the top-10 after a splendid 2021 season.
She reached the finals of the 2021 Yarra Valley Classic and the 2021 Qatar Open before winning the 2021 Dubai Championships which was a WTA-1000 event. The title in Dubai was her first since her 2019 Monterry Open title which was a successful defence of her 2018 title. Garbine will look for a great run at the 2021 US Open so as to be in great touch during the 2nd half of the season.
