Nick Kyrgios is undoubtedly one of the most controversial, yet entertaining players on the ATP Tour. The Australian has seen his ranking drop to number 85th in the world, as he has not been involved in much action since the start of the covid-19 pandemic last year.
Several big names have pulled out of the US Open this year, with Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer confirming their absence last week. The last Grandslam of the year is all slated to commence from August 30 at the Flushing Meadows.
Despite several big name misses at US Open, Nick Kyrgios will be taking part in the competition. The Australian skipped the Tokyo Olympics, in order to prepare for the American hard court season. He also participated at Wimbledon 2021, where he had to withdraw from his third round encounter Felix Auger Aliassime.
