At the 2021 Australian Open in February, Llyod Harris made it to the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time. Harris made his first ATP 500 final in March, when he became the first qualifier to go to the semifinals of the 2021 Dubai Tennis Championships, defeating world No. 4 Dominic Thiem, Kei Nishikori, and world No. 12 Denis Shapovalov. He was defeated in straight sets by Aslan Karatsev. He attained a career-high singles ranking of World No. 52 as a consequence of this excellent run. In August, Harris competed in Washington, where he surprised world No. 3 Rafael Nadal by defeating him in three sets en way to the quarterfinals. As a consequence, on August 9, 2021, he joined the top 50 at World No. 49.

Alexander Zverev reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in his first grand slam participation of 2021. Zverev won his fourth Masters 1000 championship and 15th career title in the Madrid Open, defeating Rafael Nadal, Dominic Thiem, and Matteo Berrettini. Zverev advanced to the semifinals of the Olympics by defeating Yen-hsun Lu, Daniel Elahi Galán, Nikoloz Basilashvili, and Jérémy Chardy. Despite being down a set and a break in the semifinals, Zverev fought to break back and win eight games in a row to defeat world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in three sets. He won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 after defeating Karen Khachanov in straight sets in the final.

Despite the fact that Alexander has yet to win a grand slam, he has been on a roll in recent years. His most significant achievement was this year in the Olympics 2020, when he earned the gold medal. Harris, on the other side, hasn’t won anything this year except a match against Rafael Nadal. In the following match, Zverev would comfortably defeat Harris.

Our predictions: Zverev to win in straight sets.
