IPL 2020: WATCH: 2019 video of Rahul Tewatia getting laughed at by Ricky Ponting and Delhi Capitals camp
Rahul Tewatia
Following Rahul Tewatia‘s unbelievable innings and Rajasthan Royals‘ (RR) improbable victory against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League 2020, an old Instagram video of Rahul Tewatia being poked fun at in the Delhi Capitals camp has emerged.
RR faced KXIP yesterday at Sharjah. Put in to bat first, KXIP scored 223 runs thanks in large to Mayank Agarwal‘s explosive century. Chasing a record total, RR lost star batsman Jos Buttler early on but Steve Smith struck a good half century.
Sanju Samson then continued from where he left off against CSK by smashing the bowlers around the park. Following his departure, when all hope seemed lost, Rahul Tewatia went after the bowlers and led his side to victory.
Tewatia was on 8 runs off 19 balls and struggling to connect deliveries but once he got going, there was no looking back. Tewatia emerged as the unlikely hero for RR.
Delhi Capitals’ 2019 video resurfaces
Rahul Tewatia was a part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2019 IPL. A video of a post-match team talk by DC coach Ricky Ponting following DC’s victory against Mumbai Indians has emerged.
In the video, Ponting appreciates all the players who performed well that night. However, he doesn’t mention Rahul Tewatia who took four catches. At the end of the talk, Tewatia mentions that to Ponting. Ponting mockingly says, “Tewatia wants a pat on his back” and the Capitals’ camp laugh together. Watch the video below:
