‘That’s not our future,’ Ross Chastain don’t want NASCAR to introduce more Superspeedway’s to it’s schedule following his second-place finish in Atlanta

Ross Chastain who drives the No. 1 Chevrolet for Trackhouse Racing Team kept his nerve in the chaotic last lap of Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500, which was hosted in the newly re-configurated Atlanta Motor Speedway, to score a P2 as Trackhouse Racing continues its momentum of good runs and top 5 finishes.

Ross Chastain failed to advance on race leader William Byron who eventually went on to win the race but was able to take his chance for P2 after Bubba Wallace who was hot on the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s heels crashed out.

Though the NASCAR community is well appreciative of the Character change of the Atlanta track to the superspeedway, Ross Chastain has now come forth sharing his thoughts on why there is no need for expanding the superspeedways.

The P2 finisher Ross Chastain was pretty much impressed by the newly reconfigured track but added that he isn’t a big fan of NASCAR changing the other tracks also to a superspeedway’s as he said he wants it to be the last superspeedway alongside Daytona and Talladega. He added that he believes the France family who runs NASCAR is aware of it.

“Let’s have it here and Daytona and Talladega. Let’s not go repave every mile-and-a-half in the country. Let’s not bring Kentucky back to life; let’s leave it 6 feet under. It’s done. We’re over (it). We’re never going back there,Ross Chastain said.

I feel like this can be its own thing, and people can get excited about that. But if you go for 28 degrees of banking at every mile-and-a-half, that’s not our future. I think Jim [France] and Ben [Kennedy] know that. I think the France family understands,” Ross Chastain added.

Ross Chastain went on to explain that racing in superspeedways w couple of times in the year is good but added that they will only feel good if the race won the race as crashing out is not a good option to choose from. He added that in the case of Atlanta he would leave with positive memories anyway even if he had crashed out following the tire blowing up.

Us competitors, we want to lift. We’ll do this a couple of times (a year), and it’s great if we win; it’s not good if we crash. But let’s leave it Atlanta … it’s a cool place. Even if I would have been out when we blew that tire, I think I still would have had a positive memory of it,” Ross Chastain explained.
