The first match of the new season is played between Kerala Blasters and newly formed ATK Mohun Bagan. Athletico De Kolkata combined with Mohun Bagan and they merged into one club. GMC Stadium Bambolim hosts both the teams in the inaugural fixture.  

Goa is the host for the entire season and teams are allotted ‘home’ stadiums based on their past season’s standings. GMC Athletic Stadium in Bambolim, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda and Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco are the stadiums allotted. FC Goa, ATK Mohun Bagan and Bengaluru FC use the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium as their home. GMC Athletic Stadium is home ground for Chennaiyin FC, Mumbai City, Odisha FC and Kerala Blasters. Tilak Maidan is the home for Jamshedpur FC, North East United FC and Hyderabad FC.

Goa has 12 training complexes from which each team can pick their own ground to train. Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium hosted two finals in 2015 and 2019 and has been the home stadium for FC Goa.

The 11 teams that are in this season are SC East Bengal, Kerala Blasters, Bengaluru FC, FC Goa, Chennaiyin FC, Hyderabad FC, ATK Mohun Bagan, Jamshedpur FC, Mumbai City FC, Odisha FC and North East United FC. ATK Mohun Bagan has won the title thrice as Athletico De Kolkata, Chennaiyin FC have won it twice and Bengaluru FC has won it once.

One most exciting news of this season is the appointment of Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler as head manager by East Bengal FC. He brings vast experience and the team’s strikers will hugely benefit from his advice.

The first 11 rounds of the season has been declared and the rest will be declared in a later date.
