Uncertainty over US Open participation

Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan

The Bryan brothers have won a massive total of 119 Men’s doubles titles. They have won an Olympic Gold and a Davis cup for America. Mike and Bob Bryan recently declared their future plans in an interview during the World Team Tennis event.

“We love this life. We had a great run if this is over. We’re gonna sit down and if we decide to come back and play in 2021, then you’ll probably see us play the U.S. Open just to keep it going. If we decide to shut it down in 2021, this might be it. So who knows.” one of them said.

Reflecting on their toil over the years

The duo has been regarded as the best doubles pair for years. As they played the WTT, Bob Bryan spoke about their gameplay over the years.

”We’re always working every day to get better,…We don’t really reflect or take time to enjoy the win. We’re always kind of pushing and seeing what we can improve. It’s probably what’s kept us consistent over all these years.”

No wonder that the brothers may have added another accreditation to their name winning US Open slam this year.

The US Open doubles draw has been cut from 64 teams to 32 teams amidst the pandemic by USTA. While the qualifying rounds have been eliminated. The US Open will start from the 31st of August.
