The Masters is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, which holds a rich history behind it.

The winner of the Masters is awarded a prestigious green jacket, which has strict rules and regulations that have to be followed while wearing it. Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are some of the golfers who have won multiple titles at the course. However, these golfers rely heavily on their caddies, who can be easily spotted in their bright white “tuxedo” uniforms.

The amount of money earned by a caddie depends from year to year and also when the course is played. A caddy of course makes more money during mid-April when the tournament is played, rather than caddying during other times of the year. A caddy is expected to make $125 per round of golf when carrying one golf bag around the 18 holes. However, this amount is expected to greatly increase by tips given by members, and in cases where they have to carry two bags.

During the Masters however, caddies make anywhere from $1500 to $3000 when on PGA Tour. This money will pay for all their expenses including travel, lodging and food. In addition to this, caddies will make more money depending on which golfer they’re caddying for.

Another unwritten rule for the Masters is that the caddy of the winner golfer earns 10% of his win earnings. For golfers who place in the top 10, their caddies earn 7% of their win. Finally, the other caddies will receive 5% of the purse of the golfers. This year, the caddy of the winning golfer was expected to make $210,000.
