The New Day is set to celebrate its 10-year anniversary on next week’s Raw episode. On last night’s show, however, things took a sour turn for the beloved tag team. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods squared off against Alpha Academy. In a surprising turn of events, Otis and Akira Tozawa picked up the win due to a series of miscommunications between The New Day. What followed after this was arguably the segment of the night.

Similar to the past few months, Woods and Kingston began arguing with each other. This time, the cameras followed the duo backstage, where they let out what they actually felt. Kingston berated Woods for his failures in capitalizing on opportunities. Moreover, the grand slam champion pointed out how his tag team partner has yet to win a singles title in his WWE career.

Kingston took another shot by claiming that Woods was not “good enough” to be a singles wrestler. In response, Woods said that he was the reason why KofiMania was able to happen, lambasting his teammate for not being able to take risks when required. If that wasn’t enough, Xavier Woods added that Kingston ended up losing the WWE Title in six seconds to Brock Lesnar.

Kofi Kingston then angrily walked off, telling Woods they’d see each other on next week’s Raw. With tensions running high, fans are eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this intense storyline. The New Day saga has undoubtedly been one of the best parts of Raw since its introduction. More importantly, many are hoping that it leads to the return of a specific former WWE Champion.
