‘The No. 1 goal moving forward…,’ Joey Logano wants NASCAR to make big changes to Next-Gen car’s windshields to make the dirt race better in Bristol
Joey Logano wants NASCAR to make big changes to Next-Gen car’s windshields to make the race better
NASCAR will hit the Bristol Motor Speedway, Dirt, this weekend for the annual Food City Dirt Race as the Next-Gen car faces its first dirt race challenges. Though most of the Cup Series drivers have solid dirt race experience they will be in for a challenge in Bristol.
Driving the premier stoke car on the track will be challenging f its own and navigating the track through the muddy and dusty track will be interesting for the fans to witness. Now defending Bristol Dirt Race champion Team Penske Racing driver Joey Logano has come forth demanding NASCAR to introduce radical changes with the rear of the Next-Gen car to make the dirt racing better.
Find out what Joey Logano said
Joey Logano suggested that removing the front windshield will be the biggest thing NASCAR can do to make the dirt race better, though it is too late. He added that Figuring out ways to safely remove the windshield and add a structure to keep big pieces of debris from hitting the driver is going to be the prime objective in the future. 2018 cup series champion backed his words pointing out to the muddy windshield at the corner they saw in the truck series race in last year.
“I think the biggest thing we can do [to make the dirt race better] — and it’s too late now — is just trying to eliminate the front windshield at a dirt race. Figure out a way to safely remove the windshield and add some type of structure to keep big pieces of debris from hitting the driver is going to be the No. 1 goal moving forward,” Joey Logano said.
“We saw the trucks hit the gas in their heat race, and the whole windshield was full of mud before they got in the corner,” Joey Logano added.
What Joey Logano said is absolutely a fine solution for the visibility issue as it is a common practice in dirt racing not to have a windshield and having a small alternative to the windshield will be optimal.
