“The odds of this happening were very slim, but it is what it is…” admits Novak Djokovic ahead of Vienna Open clash
World No.1 Novak Djokovic requires just two more wins to secure the year-end world number one position. The Serbian is most likely to score these wins in the Vienna Open. This tournament is slated to start today and Djokovic is the favourite to lift the title in Austria at the end of the week.
The first obstacle which stands in the 17-time Grand Slam champion’s way is his friend and occasional doubles-partner, Filip Kajinovic. Further, Djokovic stated that he is treating the draw with enormous respect, as he knows the potential that Krajinovic sports.

In his pre-match press conference, Djokovic stated, “I practised with Filip for a few days in Belgrade before coming here. And we joked around that we might draw each other and that’s what happened.”

The duo will be in action in the round of 32 on the centre court of Erste Bank Open tomorrow.
