The Rock’s business associate in ecstasy as WWE confirms the return of 73-year-old legend after 15 years for Saturday Night’s Main Event
Brian Gewirtz seems to be a big fan of WWE's decision of welcoming an iconic figure back into the mix despite years-old enmity.

Even though The Rock is off WWE these days, his business partner, Brian Gewirtz, who’s the SVP of Development at Seven Bucks Productions, is delighted about a major news that WWE broke today. The company confirmed via X that legendary color commentator and former wrestler Jesse “The Body” Ventura will return to the broadcast announce table at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gewirtz posted a reply to it saying he’s irrationally, almost disturbingly happy about it.
Ventura’s upcoming appearance will be the first he’s made on WWE television since 2009. It would have been amiss if the awaited return of Saturday Night’s Main Event went through without Jesse being there. Back in the mid-1980s, Ventura’s cadence added a whole new dimension to the WWE special on NBC. He used to call the action on air with Vince McMahon.
The 73-year-old left WWE on bad terms after a fallout with McMahon in 1990. Ventura was friends with Hulk Hogan until he found out in 1994 that The Hulkster was indirectly involved in conspiring his WWE firing in the first place. He had notified McMahon about Ventura’s aspirations of assembling a labor union.
Interestingly, Hogan is also lined up for a reported appearance at this weekend’s Saturday Night’s Main Event. To put that out in a nutshell, Hogan and Jesse will be under the same roof. It’d be interesting to see if they end up on the screen together.
Other legends who could possibly join in include “Cowboy” Bob Orton and Jimmy Hart. A few days ago, WWE unveiled a brand-new video package for SNME that also had The Rock in it. Could this be an indication that The Final Boss is returning to WWE this Saturday? Time will tell.
What has been set for Saturday Night’s Main Event?
As expected, WWE isn’t leaving any stone unturned for its primetime slot return to NBC. The company has confirmed several matches for Saturday Night’s Main Event. Likely headlining the show will be Cody Rhodes putting his Undisputed WWE title on the line against Kevin Owens.

They’ve been at loggerheads since last month or more. Apart from that, WWE will crown the first-ever Women’s United States Champion too. The other world title match pits Finn Balor against Gunther, who’d be looking to put the doubters to rest.
The women’s World Champion, Liv Morgan, is due for a daunting challenge against Iyo Sky. The latter earned a crack at Morgan’s belt after winning a battle royal on Raw in Saudi Arabia. Sky could prove a tricky dodge for Liv.
