A former WWE personality is wondering why The Rock has dropped out of John Cena's current arc if he'd helped it put together.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, also a member of TKO’s Board of Directors, has created more noise from his absence than the times he was actually on WWE television this year. The Hollywood mogul’s last appearance saw him orchestrating John Cena‘s heel turn against Cody Rhodes at the Elimination Chamber. But it hasn’t sat well with Jonathan Coachman.
‘The Coach’ quoted a reply on Netflix’s upload of a clip from WWE: Unreal that primarily focused on Paul “Triple H” Levesque pitching Cena’s heel turn to Rhodes, Cena himself, Travis Scott, WWE president Nick Khan, and The Rock. ‘The Game’ said in the aforementioned clip that Johnson was so hooked on the idea that they talked it over the phone for over half an hour. Coachman has taken offense to it. But why?
The former ESPN correspondent sought answers to Johnson’s heavy involvement in putting together John Cena’s villainous arc. This is because the Black Adam star had said on record while appearing on Pat McAfee‘s show that he was called in by Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel to work the Elimination Chamber PLE in Toronto to spike ticket sales.
Fascinating. Now the question is this. Rock said on McAfee that he was only in Toronto to sell tickets and he wasn’t supposed to be heavily involved in the heel turn. But this video clearly at least on the service shows that he was a part of the entire process from the start. So… https://t.co/z5EQ3OPRlQ

Coachman couldn’t wrap his head around why the 53-year-old actor was involved in the creative process pertaining to ‘The Cenation Leader’ going low on The American Nightmare. Coachman had previously claimed that something was off between Johnson and Levesque after ‘The Final Boss’ didn’t show up during the closing moments of Cena vs. Rhodes at WrestleMania 41.
A number of wrestling pundits have theorized that there must’ve been some sort of falling out on the way that made Johnson abandon the storyline.
Did The Rock tell Travis Scott to hit Cody Rhodes by full authority at the Elimination Chamber?
In another snippet from WWE: Unreal, one could see below that it was only The Rock who directed Travis Scott to lay it in while smacking Cody Rhodes during his beatdown angle at the Elimination Chamber. The rapper took Rock’s advice to heart, and he ended up busting an eardrum of Rhodes, let alone giving the latter a black eye from the assault.

But as one can see below, Scott FaceTimed Rhodes while he was getting attended to by the medical staff to wipe the blood off his face. ‘The Prodigal Son’ was genuinely smiling despite being bruised, and he made sure Scott didn’t feel bad about inadvertently leaving him injured. The Houston-born artist seemed as if he’d caught the wrestling bug.

WWE had plans for his in-ring debut in some capacity alongside John Cena at Money in the Bank. However, that never came to fruition. And, as things stand, WWE has reportedly cut its ties with the FE!N artist. The nature of their falling out has yet to be unearthed. However, it seems highly improbable that the two parties will work together in the foreseeable future.
The Rock’s writer had pitched for Cody Rhodes to lose his WWE title
In another bizarre revelation from the WWE: Unreal series, one of the ideas that was pitched by The Rock‘s personal writer, Brian Gewirtz, was Rhodes turning down Rock’s offer to sell his soul at the Elimination Chamber. It would’ve then led to ‘The Great One’ using his stroke and devising an impromptu Undisputed WWE title match between Rhodes and Kevin Owens in that very moment.

Gewirtz’s idea would’ve seen Owens winning the gold from the erstwhile AEW EVP. However, putting the title belt on ‘The Prizefighter’ wasn’t the end goal. Rock’s business partner affirmed that they wanted to do something seismic, but the said idea never saw the light of day.

The Rock’s original pitch was Cody declining his offer and Kevin Owens winning the title. But everyone liked the Cena turn more & went with it.#WWEUnreal

In fact, the company’s biggest babyface over the last two decades ended up being the one to turn heel. There was a ton of back and forth over whether Rhodes should be the one selling out to Rock instead of Cena. However, the latter prevailed and the follow-up to that heel turn, however, has remained polarizing.
