Losing a pet is never easy for anyone. No matter how successful, rich, or famous one may be, not much is able to soothe that pain. Unfortunately, The Rock went through something similar and provided a heartbreaking update to his fans on Instagram.

The Rock revealed that his dog, Hobbs, had recently passed away. The pet was named after Luke Hobbs, the Hollywood superstar’s character in the Fast and Furious franchise. The 52-year-old was still numb from the loss. However, he was grateful that his pet did not have to suffer, and he went quietly in his sleep.

This update was also accompanied by some photos and videos of the dog. The Brahma Bull could be seen playing around with Hobbs, poking at his tail, using him as a pillow, as well as several other photoshoots.

This unfortunate news comes just a few days ahead of The Final Boss’ scheduled appearance at Elimination Chamber. He will have a segment with Cody Rhodes. Fans will finally find out if the American Nightmare accepts the 52-year-old’s offer to become “his champion.”

Backstage update on The Rock’s return to WWE on the latest episode of SmackDown

The Rock shocked the world by returning to WWE on the latest episode of SmackDown. His appearance was announced about 24 hours before the show went live, and several changes had to be made to the show because of the former WWE Champion. He had a segment with Cody Rhodes and demanded his soul, which left fans with more questions than were answered during the promo.

Speaking on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about the chaos going on backstage due to The Great One’s return to WWE. He said that nobody was fully sure what the People’s Champion was going to do during his segment. His promo left backstage personnel even more confused, and they assumed that he would be heading into a feud with Rhodes.

Two or three hours before the show started, it was basically like he’s going to do what he’s going to do, but nobody was really sure what he was going to do. Then once it was over, I think people were even less sure because I have no idea what he was going to do.

Meltzer thought that the WWE Undisputed Champion was going to turn him down, and they would try to create a famous storyline. He believed that The Rock and Rhodes were going to be this generation’s Vince McMahon and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin. This would give the 39-year-old an authority figure to go up against, like many babyfaces had to in the past.
