Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, will go down as one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. Not only as a wrestler, but he is also considered one of the most famous personalities in the world. His journey from being a young kid with a rich wrestling heritage to becoming one of the greatest wrestlers in WWE history is truly inspirational. At one point, The Final Boss demanded to be paid double what the top star in the company was earning.
While speaking with Patrick Bet David on his podcast, The Rock revealed that the superstar who was receiving the most money at the time was none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin. The former world champion shared that when he first joined WWE, he signed a five-year contract for $150,000 a year. Although The Final Boss felt the amount he was receiving was great, he wanted more.
When he learned from Vince McMahon that Steve Austin was making $1 million a year, he demanded $2 million. The former chairman of WWE laughed at him and told him to understand the wrestling business first. Rocky said he learned the basics of it, thanked his boss and gave him a big hug. When he requested that he match Austin’s amount, Vince had a change of heart and gave him another half a million.
I was coming up and my first contract with the WWE with Vince that I signed with him was a five-year contract for $150,000. 150 grand per year is great, but when you’re wrestling 250 dates a year, do the math, what you’re getting per match. I went back to Vince, and I thanked him. I gave him a big hug.The Rock via the PBD podcast
He stayed in WWE until 2004, then left the company to pursue his Hollywood career. His latest run in WWE came earlier this year. The Rock turned heel and introduced his ‘Final Boss’ persona, where he supported then Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns. He hasn’t made an appearance since The OTC’s loss to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania XL. However, a warning he gave to the new champ on the following Raw confirmed that he would definitely return.
The Rock shared an emotional post about a fan’s journey of successful weight transformation
The Rock has inspired millions of fans with his social media posts and intense workout routines. A fan who met him shared his success story about losing a significant amount of weight. The Final Boss detailed his meeting with the fan on social media.

Rocky took to X and stated that he gets emotional every time he hears someone’s journey of weight loss and mental health. He admitted that seeing the fans succeed was the best part of his fame. The Rock wished the fan, Jonny Cleasby, a happy birthday and hoped to inspire as many people as he could.
Cleasby shared his weight loss story, stating that he had lost 60 pounds since January of this year. He gave the credit to the former world champion and even got the chance to take a picture with him. The WWE Universe was in awe of Rocky’s humility, as his willingness to listen to the success story was evident on his face.
