WWE held a post-show press conference after the latest episode of SmackDown. Of course, one of the main attractions of this media show was The Rock, who returned to WWE earlier in the night. During his entrance, the 52-year-old had walked out to a mashup between his classic theme and Lil Wayne‘s “The Block is Hot.”

During the press conference, The Rock was asked to elaborate on this unique entrance song for Friday Night. He said that when he was a full-time professional wrestler traveling around the United States, he would listen to that type of music before his matches. Thus, he wanted to give some love and respect to the OGs.

New Orleans was Lil Wayne’s city, and thus, he found it appropriate to use that song for his entrance to show the city some love. The Brahma Bull also made sure to shower plenty of praise on Kendrick Lamar. He also mentioned how much he loved his Super Bowl performance, unlike Hulk Hogan, who was very critical of the same.

This is Lil Wayne’s city. I love Kendrick that’s my guy, I love the NFL, and I love the Super Bowl, I loved his performance. So, it was my way of showing love to the OG of New Orleans and that’s Lil Wayne

The People’s Champion also gave another gift to the city of New Orleans during his recent appearance. He announced that the Showcase of the Immortals was coming back to The Crescent City. New Orleans will be hosting WrestleMania 42 next year on April 11th and 12th, 2026, inside the Caesars Superdome.

The Rock says that his story with Cody Rhodes does not need to culminate in a match

The latest episode of SmackDown featured The Rock calling Cody Rhodes down to the ring. He asked the American Nightmare to become his champion, and he would open doors and opportunities for him that he never imagined possible. Furthermore, he clarified that he was not after the WWE Undisputed Champion’s title, but rather after his soul.

During the post-SmackDown press conference, the Hollywood superstar said that the nature of professional wrestling dictates that everything culminates in a match. However, what he liked about the story between the Final Boss character and Rhodes is that it is not about the championship, and thus, this storyline does not need to culminate with a match.

The former WWE Champion described this situation as a storyline featuring two characters that were very popular. They never have to get in the ring for a match. Furthermore, their dynamic involved an uncomfortable aspect, where The Final Boss wanted Cody Rhodes’ soul. He believed that this created a lot of intrigue revolving around their relationship. He loved being a part of something such as this, and apparently so did the American Nightmare.
