The main event of this year’s NXT: Deadline featured the Women’s Iron Survivor match. To no surprise, all five participants in the bout delivered an enthralling 25-minute barn burner. Following a very close stretch to the match, Giulia emerged victorious as the only woman with 2 pinfalls. Reacting to her female stars showcasing their talent, NXT GM Ava Raine sent a bold message on social media.

Taking to her X account, The Rock‘s daughter proudly asserted that the NXT women’s division was the best in the world. Ava Raine has worked tremendously hard in the past few months to acquire the biggest female free agents in the world. Giulia, Stephanie Vaquer, and Zaria have dominated the division since debuting on the developmental brand. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that all three participated in the women’s Iron Survivor match.

The main event, which also included Sol Ruca and Wren Sinclair, went down to the wire. With all women tied at one point, Giulia sneaked a roll-up pin over Zaria as ten seconds remained on the clock. Vaquer attempted a crucifix pin on her former tag team partner only for the timer to run out. As such, Giulia has become the #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship.

This won’t be the first time The Beautiful Madness competes for the title. Previously, she had faced Roxanne Perez on the NXT debut episode on CW. However, Giulia failed to dethrone Perez after a returning Cora Jade helped her friend to retain the championship. Now, the 30-year-old will look to win her first title in WWE when she squares off against The Prodigy in a rematch at New Year’s Evil.

What else transpired at NXT: Deadline?

While the Women’s Iron Survivor clash ended the show, the men’s match kicked off NXT: Deadline. Prior to the bout, there was uncertainty surrounding the fifth participant. Eddy Thorpe, who had qualified on last week’s episode of NXT, was attacked backstage, rendering him unable to compete in the bout.

A returning Oba Femi took his spot and went on to claim the win. Femi delivered a double chokeslam on Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer and double pinned them, which earned him three points. Following this match, Lola Vice concluded her rivalry with Jaida Parker by defeating her in an Underground match.

The third bout featured the NXT Tag Team Titles being put on the line as Fraxion extended their reign in an entertaining battle against Tavion Heights and Myles Borne. In the penultimate match of the night, Trick Williams successfully retained his NXT Championship against Ridge Holland. With that, Williams will now have to defend his title against Femi at New Year’s Evil.
