Without a doubt, The Undertaker and The Rock are two of the biggest icons in professional wrestling history. The two spearheaded WWE’s peak period, the Attitude Era, featured as the top stars of the company at the time. As such, Rock and Undertaker also met inside the squared circle several times during this era. However, their battles always had a hilarious side that not many fans knew about.
Recently, The Undertaker revealed an anecdote about his in-ring battles with The Rock. While speaking with D-Von Dudley on the latter’s YouTube channel, the WWE Hall of Famer disclosed that Rocky “loved” to beat him up with his back facing the titantron. Instead of looking at Undertaker while delivering his punches, Rock preferred to watch himself lay the smacketh down on The Phenom.
When Undertaker confronted The People’s Champion about this habit, the latter laughed it off. The Deadman said he was more than willing to sell for The Rock’s punches. As a result, he had no other choice but to admit to his strange style of wrestling. This just goes to show how the Hollywood star approached his work at the time.
The Rock’s comedic timing and undeniable charisma on WWE television were always going to lead him to the acting industry. As the Attitude Era faded away, The Great One transitioned into a part-time wrestler before departing years later for Hollywood.
On the other hand, The Undertaker maintained his main event status for decades. The legend extended his WrestleMania streak until 2014, where he lost to Brock Lesnar. Subsequently, Undertaker wrestled a few more years before hanging up his boots at WrestleMania 36.
The Rock and The Undertaker recently appeared on the Raw Netflix premiere
Even to this day, both The Rock and The Undertaker are widely regarded as the biggest wrestling personalities in the world. Therefore, WWE decided to showcase the two legends on its historic Raw Netflix premiere.
The Hollywood actor kicked off the show, surprisingly dropping his well-received ‘Final Boss’ persona. Furthermore, he seemingly buried the hatchet with his rival Cody Rhodes. Following the Tribal Combat match, The Rock appeared once again, this time to crown Roman Reigns as The Tribal Chief of their family.
Meanwhile, The Undertaker made a short appearance after the Women’s World Title match. The Deadman showed up in his ‘American Bada**’ gimmick, riding around the ring on his bike. Moments later, he endorsed the new champion, Rhea Ripley, as the two shared an unforgettable moment on the night.
