Undertaker seems to really appreciate the character of The Fiend. But one of the most interesting things that Taker said was that he finds The Fiend similar to himself.

I’m enjoying what The Fiend is doing. He’s like that 1990 Undertaker. He’s catching everybody off-guard and doing stuff that people aren’t used to seeing. And what he’s doing is real savvy too. It’s deep, and thought-provoking.”

Bray Wyatt’s character, prior to The Fiend gimmick, reminded the WWE Universe of The Undertaker. The spookiness of the character, the way he carried himself, all were similar to Taker’s. In fact when Wyatt adopted his The Fiend gimmick, the similarities grew stronger.

The fear that mere presence of The Fiend invokes, is similar to the persona that Taker had when he debuted in 1990. Mysterious guy who doesn’t feels pain – a description that is apt for both the characters. Getting approval from Taker himself is an indication that WWE and Wyatt are moving in the right direction with the character.

Interestingly, there have been rumors that The Fiend will be attacking Taker when he announces his retirement at Survivor Series. It will be interesting to see two of the spookiest WWE Superstars in the squared circle together. Survivor Series airs live on 22nd November, 2020.
