One of the most buzzed-about potential matchups in combat sports is the boxing showdown between Conor McGregor and Logan Paul. The ‘Notorious’ recently claimed that the fight will take place in India, hosted by the renowned Ambani family. While the announcement has generated significant excitement, skepticism remains, with some dismissing it as mere speculation.

According to Conor McGregor, the fight will take place at India’s iconic Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. The Irishman also confirmed that both he and Logan Paul will get a whopping $250 million each. UFC veteran Chael Sonnen recently talked about this on his YouTube channel and totally denied all these speculations.

Not a single word is true. You’ve got to understand, Conor is not boxing Paul, there is not a billionaire in India that is looking to bring people over and change tourism…there’s no cheque for $250 million, so he kind of went right down the list of joking. He’s kidding. You’re not supposed to believe in any of that to be true.

The initial report suggested that the Ambani family is organizing the event to promote tourism in India. However, Sonnen dismissed this notion, arguing that governments, not private families, typically undertake such initiatives. While Sonnen’s claims lack concrete evidence, it wouldn’t be the first time he has shared inaccurate information regarding McGregor.

In recent months, McGregor has faced a civil lawsuit that has significantly affected his income streams. Several major brands have distanced themselves from the former UFC champion, unwilling to associate with the ‘Notorious.’ This is the main reason why some experts and fans are still skeptical about Ambani’s giving that much money to McGregor.

If the rumored matchup goes as planned, it will be the second time Conor McGregor will step foot inside the boxing ring since his outing against Floyd Mayweather. That turned out to be the greatest crossover bout in terms of pay-per-view sales and the Irishman made around $130 million. On the other hand, Logan Paul will make his boxing comeback after a year and get his biggest paycheck.

While there are still doubts about this match-up, many fight fans are excited to see this fight take place. Former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub recently talked about it on his YouTube channel. Schaub shared an interesting perspective on how the fight could go if it happens.

My only concern is if Conor doesn’t take it serious, if he… he’s partying, I think he’ll get f***ed up. Now, if it’s prime Conor, Logan might be get pieced up. At one point, you’ve got to give it to the Paul brothers; one fought Mike Tyson, the other is fighting Conor McGregor.

As Schaub said, the Paul brothers have certainly changed the landscape of boxing since they made their debut. Initially known as influencer boxing, they have become mainstream. If the fight between Logan Paul and Conor McGregor goes through, it would definitely be historic given the amount of money involved.
