The former Bellator Lightweight Champion, Michael Chandler is making his much-awaited debut in UFC in a fight against Dan Hooker at UFC 257’s co-main event. This is going to be the first test of Chandler in the UFC Lightweight division.
With a win over Dan Hooker, Chandler wants more matches with the top 5 ranked Lightweight fighters. ‘The Stockton Slugger’ Nate Diaz is also making his comeback inside the Octagon almost after a year and everyone wants to get a hand at him.
Chandler also wants to welcome Nate with a fight against him. During his AMA on his, Instagram live a fan asked about a potential match with Nate Diaz. Chandler says, “There’s no doubt I would pick Nate Diaz up and slam him on his neck.”
“That long, skinny, fat body, he’s out of shape, he hasn’t really fought much in the last few years. So I’d be down with that. Midwest boy from High Ridge, Missouri, fighting the kid from Lodi, California, I would love that. So we shall see.”
After serving as the backup fighter in the fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje, Chandler finally got his shot in the division and he is ready for all the challenges that lie in front of him.
Michael Chandler issues a warning to Dan Hooker
Dan Hooker issued a warning to Chandler saying, “I’m gonna break the new toy real quick”. Hooker gave the toughest fight to Dustin Poirier and showed that he is one of the toughest guys in the division and he can take anyone in the deepest water.
Michael Chandler is also ready to face Hooker, he replies to him with his tweet which says, “Choking Hazard! This is a new toy and may be unsafe for some users.”
