“They are a mess right now” Shannon Sharpe slams Lakers for poor performance this season

LeBron James and his team the Los Angeles Lakers have been struggling in the past few games this season. Recording their position in the Western Conference division they stand at the seventh position behind the Los Angeles Clippers with 16-16.

Following the final phase of this regular season, it seems quite difficult for the LA Lakers to qualify into the playoffs (still early stage). They’ve had their three-game losing streak in the past games. With every passing game lakers are digging the hole even deeper. Though the Lakers star player LeBron James has been performing pretty well this season it doesn’t help the team much as the other players have been either out of form (Westbrook) or injured (Anthony Davis).

Observing the last two games it seems that LeBron got out of the rhythm as he averages at 17.5 points per game with a shooting percentage under 50% from the field and only 30% from the distance.

Isaiah Thomas has been recently added to the game as he was out due to the Covid-19 restrictions implemented. Since his return, he has only played 3 games and has averaged 11.7 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

Shannon Sharpe says that the Lakers might be in danger of missing the playoffs

Shannon Sharpe gave his opinion on the Lakers’ game this season, he said “They’re a mess right now. The only positive I can take is that LeBron is playing better in Year 19 than anyone thought he would. But the days of him carrying a team with others not playing well are over.”

He also said that LeBron James has been showing an outstanding play in the recent games and has proved earlier to carry the team to the playoffs alone. But this is not happening as the game has changed drastically and we are in the new generation of basketball where team play is necessary to carry them forward.

It might look obvious to the fans that the LA Lakers are not going in for the playoffs, but having LeBron James in the team gives them the hope for further changes that can help the team in the same. Following the trade schedule we might get to see many changes in the Lakers roaster but until that happens, keeping an eye on the present would be much more dignitary.
