An ultra-rare occurrence saw the fight between Jamall Emmers and Chas Skelly get cancelled, after the fighters entered the octagon. The reason being – Jamall Emmers forced to pull out due to back spasms backstage. Just before UFC Fight Night 185 began, the event lost its second fight – Drakkar Klose vs Luis Pena, after Drakkar Klose’s coaching staff tested positive for the Coronavirus, and now here we are, with another fight scrapped off.

UFC took to Twitter, to mention that this was a first. For sure! There has never been an occurrence of a fight getting cancelled, once the fighters have made it to the octagon.

Skelly hasn’t fought since September 2019!

This is a first. Due to medical issues, the scheduled bout between Skelly and Emmers has been cancelled. #UFCVegas19“, UFC Europe tweeted.

Emmers was coming off a victory over Vince Cachero. But, one’s got to feel for Chas Skelly, since he hasn’t stepped inside the octagon since September 2019. His last fight was a unanimous decision victory over Jordan Griffin, back in 2019.
