On Sunday, Tiger Woods joined the broadcast booth during the final round of the 2025 Hero World Challenge. During this, he would troll his TGL teammate Kevin Kisner regarding his brutal shank, which left him cracked up earlier this year.

In January, Woods made his TGL debut when his team, Jupiter Links GC, took on the Los Angeles Golf Club. The 15-time major champion teamed up with Kisner and Max Homa for this match as Tom Kim sat out.

Woods and his team had a poor day at the office and were 10-1 down at the 14th hole. During this, Kisner came out and tried to play out his shot from the bunker.

The 4-time PGA Tour winner would then proceed to produce a moment that he would like to forget. He would end up chipping his shot straight to the flagstick from around 3 yards away. Check out a video regarding this below:

Kisner’ teammates would lose it and start laughing. Woods would later admit that he was hurt by all the laughing. Jupiter Links GC ended up losing that match 12-1 and suffered a massive defeat in Woods’ TGL debut.

On Sunday, the former World No.1 joined the broadcasting booth where Kisner was working. The golfer, who is the host of the Hero World Challenge, was not playing in the tournament due to his recent health problems.

During his appearance in the booth, they would discuss about the upcoming season. In this, Kisner’s failed shot was brought up once again.

Woods would end up trolling his teammate and laughing in his face again. The 49-year-old admitted that he had never “cried” like that before in a golf tournament.

We were all crying… I have never cried like that before.

Kisner would later ask Woods about one of his bunker shots during the 2000 RBC Canadian Open. The golfer revealed thinking that he had hit his ball at the back of another bunker near the hole. It was the cheering of the crowd that let him know his shot was not in the bunker but a bit away from the greens.

Tiger Woods comments on his potential return to golf

Last week, Tiger Woods made his first public appearance in months. During the press conference of the Hero World Challenge, the 82-time PGA Tour winner commented on his potential return to the greens following recent health setbacks.

Woods was supposed to make his first PGA Tour start of the year at the Genesis Invitational, another event which he hosts. However, due to the passing of his mother, Kultida Woods, he withdraw from the event.

During the preparation for the Masters Tournament in April, he ruptured his Achilles tendon and was forced to undergo surgery. This saw him miss the major championship and being sidelined for months.

In October, Woods underwent another back surgery. He was experiencing some discomfort in his back and would go under the knife once again and replace his disc. This sparked major concern among fans regarding his health.

In the press conference before the tournament, Woods expressed that he was “ways away” from figuring out a schedule regarding his return.

I’m just looking forward to just let me get back to playing again, let me do that and then I’ll kind of figure out what the schedule is going to be. I’m a ways away from that part of it and that type of decision, that type of commitment level… Once I get a feel for practicing, exploding, playing, the recovery process, then I can assess where I’m going to play and how much I’ll play.

Tiger Woods said in the Hero World Challenge press conference

Woods last played competitive golf during the Open Championship in 2024 at Royal Troon. He did not play in the Hero World Challenge in 2024 but did appear alongside his son, Charlie Woods, at the PNC Championship, where they finished as the runner-ups.

On December 30, Woods will turn 50, making him eligible for the PGA Champions Tour. One of his former rivals and 4-time major champion Ernie Els recently urged him to play on the senior tour. It remains to be seen what Woods decides to do in the 2026 season.
