Timothee Chalamet turned heads as Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown, and he received recognition for it on Sunday. Accepting the award at the Screen Actors Guild, the actor had his speech prepared. Chalamet reflected on his years of hard work when he revealed his inspiration to be basketball legend Michael Jordan.

Timothee Chalamet now has a souvenir for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role‘ and he had many people to look up to. In his truthful acceptance speech, he ditched modesty for confessing the hard work the biopic took. After his 5.5 years of effort into this project, he confirmed his search for greatness, adding his aim to be as exceptional as Michael Jordan.

I’m inspired by the greats here tonight. I’m as inspired by Daniel Day-Lewis, Marlon Brando, and Viola Davis as I am by Michael Jordan and Michael Phelps, and I want to be up there.

The 29-year-old performer has made his mark in the industry with his diverse roles. He is also nominated for Best Actor at the Oscars scheduled on March 3, 2025. At that stage, he will be competing against Ralph Fiennes, Sebastian Stan, Colman Domingo, and Adrien Brody. While the SAG was a huge accomplishment for Chalamet, he acknowledged the ongoing progress.

The two greeted each other and Towns gifted Chalamet his game-worn jersey with his signature on it. Additionally, the two posed for pictures at the Madison Square Garden. The Dune actor already had a Knicks jacket on him to support the team.
