Lamont Marcell Jacobs has been making the headlines in Tokyo, after claiming the most prestigious title in Athletics. The Italian claimed the Men’s 100m title, with a timing of 9.80 seconds. Moreover, the Italian did not stop there, as he also claimed the 4×100 men’s relay gold on Friday.
However, it has now been revealed by the Times, that the sports nutritionist who had taken taken credit for Lamont’s performance is now under investigation for fraud allegations and other alleged offences. Giacomo Spazzini, who owns a fitness training and nutrition company, had uploaded a video earlier this summer showing how he helped Lamont Marcell Jacobs increase his pace and reach the pinnacle of the sport.
Giacomo Spazzini probed for illegal supply of drugs

Giacomo Spazzini is under investigation by the Milan authorities, for illegal supply of drugs which could be used to alter athletic performance. ‘Operation Muscle Bound,’ which began in June 2019 is looking into the possibility of handling of goods which have been stolen.
Anabolic steroids can be used to increase muscle mass and lower body fat, and it is a performance enhancer which weightlifters and bodybuilders are often known to use to improve their strength. Jacobs’ agent, Marcello Magnani revealed that the sprinter had separated from Spazzini after he was made aware of the probe.
“Regarding the professional relationship with Giacomo Spazzini, this was interrupted in March 2021, as soon as Marcell became aware of the investigation,” Magnani said. “The investigation has never touched Marcell and, therefore, we have no information about it,” he added.
