ROC vs France – Women’s Handball Team Preview
The gold medal game in the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday promises to be an absolute cracker. The last time when the two teams met, it was ROC, who beat France by a margin of 28-27. In the points table, ROC had finished second with seven points from three matches.
Barring their 24-36 loss at the hands of Sweden on July 27, ROC hasn’t done much wrong. In the quarterfinal, they defeated Montenegro by a reasonable margin of 32-26. The semi-final turned out to be a humdinger, but ROC edged past Norway win by 27-26.
France, on the other hand, faced few troubles in the Group A games and finished third on the points table. They went down to Spain and ROC and were in danger of getting knocked out. The 28-28 tie against Sweden, the table-toppers, didn’t help their cause either.
However, from there on, they have upped their game. They ended their group games with a 29-22 win over Brazil. In the quarterfinal, France put forth their A-game, beating The Netherlands by a margin of 32-22. In the semi-final, they defeated Sweden 29-27.
