Tom Aspinall is undoubtedly one of the most talented fighters on the current UFC roster. The interim heavyweight champion is extremely sleek for his size and also has the ability to knockout anyone. The Brit doesn’t spend much time in the octagon as most of his fights end in the early minutes. However, in his prime years, the British superstar is struggling to stay as active as fight fans want him to.

Aspinall joined the UFC in 2020 and has participated in nine fights, winning most of them. His only loss came in 2022 where he injured his knee mid-fight. The British fighter won the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295 by knocking out Sergei Pavlovich in a brutal fashion. However, instead of unifying it with the champion Jon Jones, Aspinall had to defend it once again.

Aspinall’s last fight was at UFC 304 where he knocked out Curtis Blaydes. Since then, he tried to get a title shot against Jon Jones at UFC 309, but it didn’t happen. Instead, Jones defended his title against Stipe Miocic, who was in his 40s and didn’t look sharp at all. While it added to Jones’ legacy, there were also several criticisms towards ‘Bones’ for allegedly ducking Aspinall.

UFC CEO Dana White, who was previously against Aspinall fighting Jones, has finally declared that he is next in line. However, with no updates about his title fight, fans are losing patience. Many believe that the UFC is wasting Aspinall’s prime with their mismanagement, and are definitely furious.

Fight fans react to delay in  Tom Aspinall’s heavyweight title fight

While trying to get his title shot against Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall made sure to use every trick under his sleeves. Both the heavyweights had various heated exchanges on the internet with Aspinall resorting to frequent trolling of the heavyweight champion. Jones has repeatedly mentioned that he has no intentions to fight Aspinall and is more focused on a potential Alex Pereira superfight.

Pereira is definitely more popular and the pay-per-view numbers would go wild, but Aspinall has trust in Dana White’s promise. Many believe that Jones is just pricing himself out in order to get a hefty purse from the UFC. Nevertheless, here are online discussions from fight fans about this particular situation.

Many fans talked about the UFC and Dana White continuing to treat their champions wrongly and show frequent favoritism. Many suggested that Jon Jones is ruining the heavyweight division by holding the spot, and not giving Aspinall his shot. Others mentioned how UFC needs to pay Jones and make the fight before it’s too late.
