After dedicating more than two decades of his life to the NFL, becoming the winningest quarterback with seven Super Bowl rings, and earning the title of NFL GOAT, Tom Brady is set to make his debut in broadcasting in the coming fall.

Whenever there’s the name of ‘Tom Brady’ involved, the bar is set exceptionally high and that applies to his broadcasting career as well, especially when he is replacing an Emmy-winner analyst. But there’s another major reason for the high expectation from the legendary quarterback– his 10-year deal with Fox Sports worth $375 million.

During his recent appearance on FS1’s ‘The Herd’ show hosted by Colin Cowherd, Brady was asked whether he plans to be highly competitive in the broadcasting booth, as he was on the football field.

Certainly with the broadcaster, I don't think for me, it's about competition. I think it's for me, it's about 'did I put everything I could into it? Did I give the fans everything that they tuned in for?' And that's really how I'll end up gauging myself.

There have already been immense discussions on how Brady would perform when stepping out as a lead analyst for FOX Sports. Given, that he is making a splashy debut with the opening game between the Cleveland Browns and Dallas Cowboys on September 8.

How Tom Brady is aiming to meet Fox’s high hopes

Brady is known for his competitive spirit, but this broadcasting job is more than a competition to succeed for him. The seven-time Super Bowl champion admitted setting “very high” expectations for himself with the lucrative deal signed with the network.

I'll have to look at myself at the end of every Sunday night going, 'Did I do a good enough job? Did I live up to the belief that Fox had in me? Did I live up to the expectations of my teammates... the entire team? That's ultimately how I judge myself in that new role.

When Fox’s star analyst left the network and joined ESPN, it needed more celebrity additions in the booth. That’s why, when they found the opportunity, they poached the GOAT in a jaw-dropping $375 million deal and the lead analyst position, with high expectations from him.
