In his 23 years of NFL career, Tom Brady established himself as the Greatest Quarterback of All Time, winning seven Super Bowl rings, five Super Bowl MVP honors, three NFL MVP honors, and finally engraved his name in the New England Patriots Hall of Fame. With such accolades, it’s hard to presume he would have any regrets in his playing days in the league.
But it turns out, even his legendary career also had certain discoloration, one, in particular, he revealed during his recent appearance on The Pivot podcast. Brady opened up about his serious approach to football, which if given the chance the former quarterback would prefer to change.
What I would have changed was, OK, there’s part of me that still loves … You see these young players. I see, like, Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, laughing, having fun. I’m like, ‘I used to be like that!’ What the hell happened to me? I just got too serious.Tom Brady said
During his legendary days with the Patriots under head coach Bill Belichick, Brady was known to have a serious or robotic as one would argue, approach towards football and leading the team to victory. His former wife, Gisele Bundchen, had also spoken on the subject, revealing how the former quarterback used to put football above everything else.
The legendary quarterback’s teammates and opponents still remember him for his intensity on the football field and yelling at his peers both from the sidelines and their faces.
Tom Brady aims to bring fun and insight to broadcasting debut
As the chapter of playing on the field has ended for the former quarterback, he is looking forward to the next phase: broadcasting. After taking a year-long break from the NFL, Brady is preparing for his comeback in the coming September but this time, in the broadcasting booth as the lead analyst for Fox Sports.
But heading into the next chapter, Brady intends to be more lighthearted and turn out the intensity he had a year ago. He plans to enjoy his broadcasting job and stand up to the expectations of the fans.
Brady is all set to call the opening game of the Dallas Cowboys against the Cleveland Browns in the first week of the 2024 season, alongside FOX play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt.
