The 2024 NFL season seems to be a season for ‘comebacks’, well at least the thought of it. Shortly after the legend, Tom Brady teased his fans with a potential comeback hint, his former teammate Antonio Brown asked a similar question from fans. However, that didn’t seem to bring the same reaction as he expected.
In his six-year stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown accomplished such feats that haven’t been challenged yet. But since he left the team in 2018, the wide receiver earned a notorious reputation because of his bizarre behavior off-field, leading to his eventual retirement in 2021.
During his time off-field, Brown got his name in several headline-grabbing incidents giving him an infamous reputation. That’s why when he asked fans if he should come back to the league, the reaction was the opposite of what he expected.

This isn’t the first time the former Steelers receiver talked about un-retiring. Last year in April, he even named the Baltimore Ravens as the team he is un-retiring to. But both times, fans have wondered if Brown can retain his old form which made him an icon. In his last three seasons after leaving Pittsburgh, his skills only diminished prompting him to retire at the age of 33.
Fans react to Antonio Brown hinting a possible comeback
Fans immediately picked on Antonio Brown’s points when the former NFL receiver posted about the potential comeback and didn’t leave the chance to troll him. One fan slammed Brown by tweeting, “No one would sign you bruv,” another mocked him by writing, “Would the XFL even take you?”

Fans claimed if the receiver was in his prime days and his performance stats hadn’t declined in his last three seasons, the NFL teams might have considered taking a chance on him. But since that’s a hypothetical situation, they denounce him by saying it’s better if he stays on X. Here are some of the fan reactions:
Having said that, the Super Bowl champion’s current skillset doesn’t overshadow his off-field antics– often considered foolish and disruptive. Considering the amount of distraction he would bring to any team if he returned, his contributions on the football field should resonate with it, and analyzing the present situation, any team will hardly overlook these things.
