Tom Brady recently found out that his quarterback skills were ineffective at successfully blowing glass. It’s an ancient method used by artisans to create gorgeous sculptures using malted glass as their base.
Fresh off witnessing the Hertz Racing team winning the FIA World Endurance Championship in Italy, Tom Brady enjoyed some serene time at a factory where master artisans created sculptures from glass in Murano. The retired NFL quarterback watched as experienced hands crafted vases and small trinkets by blowing glass.
After spending some time learning about the details and history of the work, Brady decided that he would try his hand at making a souvenir. One of the craftsmen held the blower in their hand as the 46-year-old used all the might of his lungs to blow air into the hot glass.
It took a few seconds until a shape could be seen forming. Brady thought his winner’s luck had kicked in. However, shortly after removing his lips from the blower pipe, the glass exploded into a million pieces. Rome wasn’t built in one day.
Brady’s Instagram caption for the post, “When in Murano… stick to football,” captured the whole theme of the video quite well.
Tom Brady enjoyed his work vacation in Italy
Before making his way to a glass-blowing crash course in Murano, Brady was in Venice with his E1 Boat Racing Team in Italy. The Hertz team, JOTA, grabbed a major win, and the former Patriots quarterback could not stop himself from celebrating with the team, which he co-owns with billionaire Tom Wagner. Brady’s clothing line is the official sponsor of the team’s attire.
Brady gave the team a shoutout following their crucial win.
Brady and Wagner also partnered to buy a stake in the English soccer club Birmingham City FC, which got relegated to third-division football last month.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner has been busy expanding his empire. His bid to be one of the owners of the Las Vegas Raiders is still pending league approval. If it gets the green light, then fans should forget about seeing him padded up for another football side.
His NFL career is more than likely closed because he is about to embark on a new journey. After signing a blockbuster 10-year broadcasting deal with FOX Network, Tom Brady will make his debut during the Dallas Cowboys vs. Cleveland Browns game on Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season.
