Team USA won their fifth Olympic gold medal in the women’s soccer finals against Brazil with a score of 1-0 at the Paris Olympics. The team finally got through after 11 years of not getting gold since 2012 at the London Olympics. The team was not short of cheers from the stand with their new wingman, Tom Cruise present.
Tom Cruise was present at Parc de Princes on Saturday. Cruise was all over social media after the appearance. He enthusiastically supported the team as the whistle blew and Mallory Swanson‘s lone goal brought USA a gold. Along with Cruise, soccer star Megan Rapinoe and former WNBA player, Sue Bird were also present on the cheerleading squad.
Tom Cruise was everywhere this summer including the Olympic games and Wimbledon. He was also reported to appear at the Paris Olympics closing ceremony handing down the torch to LA for the 2028 Olympics. Allegedly, he will be skydiving down to the Hollywood sign.
The match took an intense turn when it saw a scoreless half-time. However, the last-minute goal of Swanson saved the day. This marked the third victory for the United States over Brazil in an Olympic final.
Emma Hayes With Tom Cruise After Women’s USA Soccer Team Win
After the women’s soccer finals at the Paris Olympics led by Coach Emma Hayes for Team USA, she met with Tom Cruise. In the picture posted on Instagram story, Hayes was in a group picture with Cruise. It was a repost that wrote, “Tom wins chief cheerleader.”
Tom Cruise was all smiles after that one goal that brought USA gold. Emma Hayes on the other hand was overcome with emotion. In a post-match interview, she expressed her gratitude to be able to coach this team.
Emma Hayes took over the role of coach for the USA’s women’s soccer team just 3 months before the Paris Olympics. She was quick to get to work with the team winning their first gold since 2012. However, she was not new to winning. Previously she was a manager for Chelsea Women, having left them at their best potential.
